Seats
Most 3 wheel double buggies begin as single pushchairs. Some models can be modified to accept the second seat using adapters. You'll also see that some models let you include a ride-onboard for older children who wish to walk but still need a little help.

Suspension
The suspension of a triple wheeled buggy will determine how easily you and your child/children are able to push it. It is important to have a smooth ride since babies feel every bump on the road. This is especially true if you are driving on rough terrain, such as grass or roads that aren't paved. Certain models also have locking front wheels to assist in maneuvering and navigating obstacles such as curbs.
Some models use air-filled tyres, which give you a great all-terrain experience, but they can be prone to punctures, so make sure you have a spare set in the trunk. Some models have gel or foam tyres, designed to withstand bumps and are less susceptible to punctures, however, you may find them to be a bit stiff and uncomfortable for your child's back should you choose to jog.

MFM reviewer Kath tested the Urban Glide 2 through its trials with her newborn and 3 years old children, and discovered that it was able to handle difficult terrain: "it navigated effortlessly over pavements that were bumpy and grassy cobbles, dirt tracks and cobbles easily and was able to maneuver around corners and go up and down kerbs. The 16" rear wheels, combined with the lockable swivel wheels on the front, create an extremely comfortable jogging experience. The Urban Glide 2 has a number of features, like an enormous seat unit that comes with a padded cover as well as a hood that has 50+ UV protection, and easy-to-use and rechargeable lights.
Folding
A 3-wheel double buggy folds quite easily to store it. There are models that fold flat and then stand up (as when they're in a pushchair position) and also those that pop open to reveal more of an umbrella-like fold that has an electric brake. In general the more wheels a buggy comes with the more comfortable it will be to navigate on rough terrain. This is particularly true if your wheels are bigger than the typical size. You will have more stability and it will be less likely that you have to flip or tip your child.
A popular option is the iCandy Wave, which can be used from birth using an infant car seat and it can be converted into a side-byside double buggy once your child is old enough for them to sit next to each other. It's compatible with a wide selection of infant car seats and comes with a handy pull-out undercarriage basket that can be used to stash items. It's a bit on the expensive side but does have a few notable features that make it an excellent option for value, such as its easy one-click fold and lots of extras including a bumper bar and raincover.
Stores

Some models, like the Roma Atlas, have a large basket, as well as two zip pockets on the hood, where you can store your phone and keys. It is also designed to handle slightly rough terrain which makes it a great choice for family walks or all-terrain hikes.
Other models, such as the UPPAbaby Vista 2, offer plenty of space and ability to transport twins or a toddler and a child. (This is possible thanks to their 'PiggyBack board').
